Is it better to tan in a tanning salon or tan in the sun?

Which is better for your skin and which gives you a better looking tan? By the way, I’ve tried tanning lotion before and it just turned me orange so I don’t want to go that route.

    the sun is better

Doesn’t matter. Both will cause skin cancer.

    Neither,
    almost the same
    except tanning salon
    will be faster
but it has a TON of
    damage:/
    Get a spray on tan,
    it won’t be orange:]

    The Sun.
    Amazing, BUT-
Its because of the types of UV rays.
    The sun’s is UV A,
which is indeed LESS harmful than the tanning bed’s
artificial UV “B” and other tanning rays.

    and cause skin cancer

Both aren’t good for you in excess..

but the sun is better because it’s a natural way and then it will look more natural and healthy.

Tanning salons also sound icky to me…

the sun is much better for your skin. the tanning salon is horrible for your skin in the long run. when you’re old you’ll be all wrinkly, coved with moles, and have skin cancer. if you get a spray on tan at the salon it won’t turn you orange and it is much better for you. just make sure to pick the right shade for your skin.

It’s better to tan in the sun because with fake tanning – you can tell, and you don’t want the colour to turn out orange again, do you? There may be different ways of tanning, but it is definately not natural.

both are very harmful to your skin and could possibly cause skin cancer.

but, the sun is much better to tan in! because, the suns rays are natural, whereas in a tanning bed, the rays are ‘man-made’ or whatever.

getting a spray tan, that fits your skin tone is your best bet! it won’t damage your skin and will leave it golden for summer! (:

the sun tanning beds r more dangerous

  14. J A says:

Well, you can avoid getting burned in a tanning bed a lot easier than being out in the sun and it gives you a more even tan, so the tanning bed is better for you in that sense. But it damages you all the same. You will get a great tan either way as long as you avoid getting burned. Getting a sun burn is what really damages your skin.

well neither are better but a spray on tan will work but i will come off in a week

the sun is better becaus it is more natural and healthie for just not in excess because that can cause skin cancer

  17. cute_brunnette101 says:

    the sun is safer

  18. Tiffany says:

Neither is good for your skin but from what I’ve seen the tans from the tanning salon look really fake and make people look orange. So, the sun would be better for a nicer looking tan, but neither is good for your skin.

  19. Colleen says:

ahhhh nooo! its sooo bad for your skin. you will wrinkle at a younger age, and get more brown sun spots. but if you must,

    the sun is better.

15-30 minutes in a tanning booth is equal to A WHOLE DAY IN THE SUN. not kidding.

  20. Eccentric_One says:

They are both bad but different. However, everything in moderation is ok. They have different rays. I find that 8 min in a good strong tanning bed is the same as a few hours in the sun, both looks and effects. You need to wear suntan lotion to reduce the inflammation of sunburn as well as moles. So, to answer your question, they are the same, the tanning bed offers faster results.
